Unique design incorporates a storage compartment for food scraps or other refuse. Holds a standard 10 gallon (41.25 qt.) size waste basket (not included). Compartment size for waste bin measures 19.875" high x 11" wide x 15.25" deep. We increased this cabinet's versatility by adding 3 pantry shelves and a paper towel holder in the rear. Like it, but...

...this absolutely does NOT hold a standard, 13 gallon trash can (not a 13 gallon can that *I* can find, anyway). My husband and I could only get an 11 gallon one to fit, which yes, isn't bad, but considering we had previously purchased a 13 gallon can in anticipation of receiving this unit, it's a bit disappointing. Not a huge loss of money either way, just a little frustrating. Takes a while to assemble, but once together, it's very nice and we are happy with it. Just know that you need to get an 11 gallon can to fit this unit, not a 13.

Good addition to the kitchen

This thing is great. It is easy to assemble unless you're an absolute spaz--then maybe you could get your ten-year-old to put it together. I use it daily for food prep, and I move wherever I want it. It is great for bringing a work station close to the stove for things like canning. I do my cutting right on the wood top, and bleach it clean every week or so. It rolls easy on the casters, which makes it great when you want to wash your kitchen floor--you can just wheel it right out of the way. It is by no means a high end item. It is inexpensive and functional, which is just fine with me. I cook a lot, and find this island perfectly adequate to my purposes. The shelving front and back gives me more storage, and I like having my trash out of the way in the bin. This is a great and inexpensive upgrade to your kitchen.

My husband had this put together in about 45 minutes. The quality is pretty much what I expected. The butcher block top is nice but the drawer is on the cheap (thin) side. I like the pull out bin which we use for recyclables. BUT IT DOES NOT FIT A 13 GALLON BIN get an 11 gallon. Overall, this was a good purchase for what we wanted and I would recommend this to friend!
