DO NOT BUY

I bought this highchair because I felt the design was superior to other items on the market and because it was a European Brand. Ease of use and cleaning were my priorities.TWO BIG PROBLEMS, #2 below is VERY serious:1. This highchair is very difficult to clean because food gets stuck between the tray and the metal frame. You have to use a toothpick to dig out the food from this tiny gap between the two materials. you have to do this every two or three days or the buildup is disgusting. needless to say, this is too much maintenance for a daily use highchair.2. !!!THE COATING ON THE SURFACE OF THE EATING TRAY AND SEAT IS FLAKING OFF!!! 50% of the surface of the tray has come off in little flecks of paint over the last several weeks and months. I wash the tray with warm water and dishsoap and a non-abrasive sponge or a papertowel. I noticed on a sunny day that the surface didn't seem uniform, and when i detached the tray and looked at it under a stronger light, I realized that the surface was coming off. When i scratched at it with my finger nail, I got a finger full of blue (paint??!) chips. THIS IS TOTALLY, TOTALLY unacceptable. The store where I bought the highchair is giving me a full refund, and i WILL NOT be buying another product from this brand. After 12 months of feeding my child from this tray, I really upsets me to think about how much of this "paint" she has eaten.Mutsy- get your act together, and supervise the production of this item!! I did not realize when i bought the highchair that it was manufactured in China, and am therefore Very concerned about what my child has been ingesting over the last 12 months.

great highchair

As a first time parent I wasn't really sure what I was looking for in a highchair, but I'm sure I got it all in this one! First of all this chair looks great! I wanted something that would go with the modern decor of our apt, as it would be "on display" for the next couple of years! this highchair is very modern and sleek and doesn't take up as much space as it appears in the picture (another plus for a modern apt dweller) it's easy to clean, and the booster chair keeps our daughter (7months) securely in place - she's quite happy to sit there to eat, or just to play with toys. We've yet to see how the chair "grows" with her, but it adjusts quite easily, and looks like it work for her for quite some time. The only problem I have found, is as the seat is so snug (good thing!) it was a bit difficult to get her into it at first. maybe this happens with other highchairs? but we got the knack of it after not too long, and now she'll straighten her legs to slide right in. I am really pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish practial highchair.

Fun and funky

* minimalistic look* decent sized footprint* no legs sticking out the back to trip over (I've stubbed my toes on the Svan and Stokke)* easy and quick to adjust without tools* easy to wipe clean* love the tray size as I do not like huge trays - this is comparable in size to the Svan tray if you're familiar with that one* really easy to get child in and out as tray and bar both open and tilt away from the chair - I suspect the other reviewer may have had the older model that did not have this feature. Mutsy changed this a couple years ago.* true that food can get into the joints around the tray - what I do now is keep a toothbrush under the kitchen sink and give it a quick run around when wiping the chair. I hate cleaning high chairs and found my Svan was difficult to clean and food built up in the bolts and joints over time - so if I can take a couple seconds to whip around with the toothbrush, anyone can. :) I'm considering adding a bead of clear, food grade silicone around the tray. Should only cost a few bucks for a tube and is easy to apply and should eliminate the need for the toothbrush. If I do so, I'll update my review and let people know how it worked.* harness - I don't find the harness useless as other people have. It works great for us. I'm used to the 3 point harness from my Svan so having the shoulder straps bugged me a bit at first and I was going to cut them off. Instead, I connected them to the points at the back of the seat so they were out of the way, and and just used the waist strap until I decided what to do. Then I started to use the shoulder straps and got used to them. I throw a bib over top so the straps don't get dirty. As for a choking hazard, with the seat reducer in, the straps stay sitting on the reducer and don't hang off the back. The reducer is to be used until about age 3, and at that point, we won't have a tray or bar and our child will be climbing in and out of the seat themselves, so there will be no harness. (this is from experience with the last 2 kids and when they climbed in and out of their Svan chairs). If we do need to pull the reducer out earlier due to the size of our child, I'll just make sure clip the harness when unoccupied.* Improvements I'd like are, make the tray an accessory to the table bar instead of being a it's own part. The tray could even store on the back of the seat (similar to how Svan does it). So you could easily swap between tray and bar and not have to swap an entire piece and install crotch strap. If the tray just clipped on the bar, extra crevices could be eliminated that exist now which would alleviate complaints of cleaning difficulty. As I said though, a quick run with a toothbrush while wiping the tray gets it all out quickly and easily. For me, it wasn't a deal breaker as even with that, the chair is much easier to clean than others I've owned.
