I can see my office database from way out in the woods!

I use the SOHO 65 to boost my iPhone signal, so I can do computer work from out in the forest. My phone had 0-2 bars with no booster, which is not possible to do internet work. I tried the Wilson car booster but it wasn't enough. Getting the SOHO 65, things are good now, I can VPN into my office. I get 3 bars of AT&T's "4G", (which is actually only 3G with a partial woodie). There is no 4G LTE in the area at this time. The internet's slow, but I can get work done.I am using the SOHO 65 with the wide band directional antenna 304411, which I had to point it in the direction of the nearest a cell tower 8 miles away. The cell tower is on the other side of a significant ridge. I have NO line of sight, the ridge is about 300 feet higher than my line of sight, but I guess the signal bounces over that ridge. Inside, I am using the Wilson 50 ohm 301135 inside antenna.The Wilson tech told me that the performance that I have experienced is beyond the expected capabilities of the booster, but since the car booster "almost worked" he thought it might be worth taking a chance with the stronger unit. The BIG problem with using these products is that you have to buy it, go out and test it, be HUNGRY to learn about radio signal behavior, and be able to ask the right questions and make the right decisions. You can't SEE the signal of course you can only see how many bars, you just have to try lots of things until you get it, and be lucky too. For one thing I found that my signal is stronger 20 feet above ground at my hilltop than 40 feet above ground (at my hilltop). There are more variables than you can imagine.In my area (central Washington state) have found that the "Edge" network is much better for phone calls, voice is perfect over the E network and I get 5 bars boosted. The 4G network is much better for internet, but will drop a call after about 2 minutes, always, repeatably, and I get 3 bars boosted. So internet over 4G and voice over E. It's a little complicated how I switch between the two. To get the E network I have to walk away from the booster until 4G drops then come back into the boosted area with the E, and it stays on E. To get 4G I have to re-start my connection (within amplified zone) and it comes up 4G. I use "airplane mode" to re-start the network.Very happy with this Wilson stuff, and happy with the help they provide too.

Needed addition to weak signal home!

I purchased all of the required Wilson components about 5 years back and at that time prices were much higher. So I bought the outside antenna, inside antenna, cables and finally repeater. Originally I purchased a SOHO 50 (don't even make those anymore) and the signal was decent enough though hard for me to justify my investment BUT basically that was the only option. Well fast forward 5 years, lightning struck my unit and fried it so I just upgraded to the SOHO 65 still using my same old antennas and cables. I must say this is a MUCH more powerful unit! I get 2-3 bars in rooms I used to not get and get full 5 bars in the room where the inside antenna is. The old repeater did work well but this one seems so much better! I am very satisfied with how this repeater performs. I hope it lasts another 5 years and then I'll upgrade once more to perhaps the SOHO 80 or higher! For anyone thinking of going with a repeater system it is well worth the investment especially if your cellphone is to replace a land line as mine did, it will pay for itself in less than a year.

Great and works well..... but...

Great system, great customer support, easy to install, gave me 5 bars right away when I could not make a single call that was not dropped because we are 46,432 feet from the cell tower. Love it 100%. However, it did not greatly increase data speed when using it as a wifi pod. It helped, where before I could not get the wifi to operate, now it does, but the speed is not great. This may be a function of the cell tower speed and not this system as this is located in the hills of KY next to KY lake and I am told the cell towers here are old and slow and need up-dating badly. But this system is working well. Love it.
