5Terrific and Durable
By Jenna Glatzer
I bought this for my daughter when she was 2. She loved it! We used it indoors in the cold weather, and outdoors a few times in the summer. The double slides are great when you have a playdate and kiddos are impatient and both want to slide. ;) It inflates in about 30 seconds and deflates quickly, too. About my only challenge was squishing it back into its bag! The motor works well and is not particularly noisy, the size is good for 2 or 3 little kids, and you can toss inflatable balls in there to add to the fun.It was a good investment for us; my daughter and her friends enjoyed it very much.

4Great entertainment!
By Alicia N. Kockler
I bought this for a christmas present for my 2 kids. They are 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 and absolutely LOVE it! We live in Minnesota so this is great to have up in our basement and let the kids burn off some energy when it's too cold to go outside. The motor is pretty quiet even when you have it on inside. I can see them using this for many years to come.

Product Description

The Classic Ikon 7-piece block set comes with a 3-1/2-inch parer, 6-inch utility knife, 8-inch bread knife, 8-inch cooks knife, 9-inch steel, kitchen shears and a 13 slot block. Classic Ikon is culmination of all the best features of each of the Wusthof knife lines. The combined riveted handle design is combined with a contoured shape to add comfort and control. The handles are made of a durable synthetic material that is extremely comfortable to use. The Classic Ikon adds a rear bolster that acts as a counter balance when using the knife. This second bolster adds significant blade control. Classic Ikon has a unique forward bolster as well. The forward partial bolster is designed so you can sharpen the complete length of the blade. This bolster is also curved inwards to allow your fingers greater control while holding the knife by the blade. Wusthof uses a special blend of German steel through out the whole length of the knife. The ingredients of this steel are proudly etched on each blade. Wusthof not only uses the best materials to make a fine knife, but it is also crucial that each blade is precisely tempered. This tempering allows the knife to hold its edge for an extremely long time, yet still be able to be maintained in your home kitchen with out the need to be sent away for maintenance. Our unique compound angle is not seen in many knives. This angle tapers from the spine of the knife to the edge to allow for a sturdy, yet extremely sharp edge while it also tapers from the bolster to the tip to give the knife strength as well as flexibility. Located in "The Cutlery Capital of the World", Solingen Germany, the Wusthof factory history goes back as far as 1814 when the company was listed with the Duchy of Berg. To this day, the company remains family owned.

5Good tools make the difference
By The Bob
Very sharp and balanced. I very much like the grip and they're easy to sharpen. I was originally planning to start with just the paring & chef's knives but glad I went with the set. Even the bread knife is noticeably better than what I was using before, allowing me to cut very thin slices of bread with precision.

So far this product has been incredible. Complete upgrade for me from what I was using. The knives are really sharp and have incredible balance to them. We will see how they are after I have to get them sharpened.

1Poor, Poor Quality
By Danielle
When our previous bounce house became too small for our children I began researching new ones to buy for Christmas. Bounce houses are wonderful for burning off energy especially if you can set it up indoors during cold winter months. After seeing the high reviews on this website I was confident I was making the right choice in this bouncer, especially considering it carries the Little Tikes name. Unfortunately I was very wrong. When the bouncer arrived on Christmas Eve 2010, I believe I was more excited than the children. Upon opening the box I was extremely disappointed to find that the material the bouncer was made of was much, much thinner than our previous bouncer (which was also much less expensive) and the seams did not appear to be very sturdy. The material feels very similar to the material used to make a parachute, not very sturdy at all. I tried to maintain my confidence in the Little Tikes name and the prior reviews. We set the bouncer up in a room in our home that was completely empty, even removing any molding or chips or anything that might damage it from the bottom of the room. It was placed on high pile, very plush carpeting. There were usually 2 children at a time using the bouncer with the exception of one time a child was exiting as another child was entering for a total of three children actually IN the house at a time, and this only happened once. After just 5 uses (FIVE !!!!) the seam that connects the slide to the bouncer ripped open! I immediately stopped using it and contacted Little Tikes, feeling confident they would at the least send a patch to repair it if not replace it. I could not believe my ears when the representative told me that I have voided the warranty by using the product indoors and they would do nothing to fix the problem. To add insult to injury while I was on the phone with them I attempted to turn on the blower which immediately began to "short" on and off. They were still unwilling to fix the problem. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Spend a little extra money and buy something of better quality.

5Impressed!
By TIM LINDEN
The quality is much better than I expected for the price. We had a birthday party when my daughter turned 4, her and her friends had a great time. They were even playing with one of the girls older sister in it, and it handled all of them very well. I'd buy it again in an instant!

5Little Tikes Bouncer
By S. Crawford
I purchased this bounce house for my two grandsons, ages 4 and 2, for when they come to visit from out of town for the weekend. I intended on using it in my garage during the winter, but the first weekend I used it, it was bitter cold. So I put it up in my great room. It was a tight fit, but an absolutely fun time was had by all. I love the fact that it holds up to 250 pounds because my grandsons could play inside with one adult also, which was all the more fun! It inflates easily, deflates easily, and goes easily back in the storage bag. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to give children a fun time jumping, rolling and using their large muscles.

5AMAZING!

4Great starter set
By Kara A. Patterson
I really like these knives, and they are great as a STARTER set. I'm just learning to really cook, so I wasn't really ready to spend big bucks on a heavy, more quality set. But every cook I know swears by the Wusthof name. The pros - this set is very goodlooking, the block is very nice, it has a great array of various knives for different purposes (still learning all their uses) and the knives are very, very sharp! The downfall, and for me what makes this a starter set and four stars versus five, is that they are very lightweight and the handle is just a thin piece of plastic instead of the much nicer sets you can get from Wusthof. That said, don't let the flimsy handles stop you from getting these if you are looking to upgrade from a cheap-o brand like I did, or are just learning to cook and use various knives. The santoku knife and the steak knives are my favorites so far.

5Perfect indoor bounce house
By mommy
I bought this over a year ago for fun indoor play on crummy days. I have two 2-year-old's rainy and cold days can be a nightmare especially to many in a row. This bounce house is great and it fits perfectly in the play room. I am so glad that I didn't go with the square shape because I think it would have been overwhelming indoors. The quality of the product is great. I would recommend this to all of my friends and I do every time they come over with their own kids. The only modification that I made was put more velcro on the velcro side the kids jump into the walls and this made me nervous. Now its industrial strength and they aren't going anywhere. They love doing tricks and climbing up and down the slide. I put 4 stars for educational because I also bought a bag of plastic balls with this product and we count the balls while we throw them and talk about colors etc. I love that this bounce house wears them out in time for a good nap.

5Great Bounce House
By OCM
We love this bounce house! I needed something for the winter that would fit in our relatively small basement--this fit the bill! I bought it for my 20 month old son, but it took him a few weeks to warm up to the sound of the blower. Now, all he wants to do is play with the 'jump balls' (we got the balls to go inside). My daughter, 4, absolutely LOVES it! I thought it would be a good way for my son to get out his energy, but it's also been a fabulous cold weather way to keep my book-work/artist daughter active as well! We' ve only had it about 3 weeks, but it seems very durable in make.

5Great purchase!
By SouthJerseyMom
I purchased this for my 3 year old for indoor summer fun. We often take him to the warehouse bounce/play centers and the admission price can add up.It's the perfect size for 2-3 toddlers, which is great for playdates with his little friends. It inflates and deflates quickly. It was way bigger than I pictured, but it fits in our average sized play room. The only complaint, if you can call it that, is that when using indoors, there is no method to weigh down the corners. If outside, you would use the stakes. A few times while playing, it seemed that one good bounce too close to the corner could topple it. We'd never let our son play unsupervised, so a hand on one corner while he's jumping provides enough counterweight. I couldn't be happier. Great item, great price.

5Probably today's top design
By SuperNova
The 535 has been improved in several areas from the earlier 530 model, the latter of which I have two samples. The build quality has been discussed elsewhere. It is substantially solid and commendable. The replaceable cord is almost indestructible, but it being replaceable it is a non-issue.More important is the sound quality which has been dramatically improved in a number of ways due to refinements to the shaping of the cavity within which the balanced armatures are fitted (I speak about the "speakers" inside which are more comparable to tuning forks than typical electo-magnetic speakers.) The crossover points between these armatures may also have been refined and adjusted for flatter response - meaning audibly flat, rather than just measurably flat. The external shape of the device was changed too, and it should fit more comfortably for many ears once one gets used to inserting them. While a few listeners reported hearing "no difference" between the 535 and Shure's earlier 530 model, I strongly disagree. Or given that many people really can't hear even dramatic differences, it is merely true for them, but not true for those who can hear minute but significant changes between designs of audio equipment. The 535 is different from the 530 physically period. And sonically in a number of areas any sophisticated golden ear can hear. Among my audiophile acquaintances we could easily hear the improvements as follows:1. Increased clarity and "transparency" throughout the frequency range resulting in better delineating of instruments, one from the other, and the textures and shapes within the sound. For example, the airy whoosh of a flute, the tinkles in the distance of a softy struck triangle at the back of the stage, the rosiny draw of the bow of a string instrument, the brassy rasp of a trombone, and the shimmer and afterglow of a brushed cymbal.2. Higher resolution of the soundspace, such that the leading edges of percussion instruments penetrate with greater force, impact and speed. The fading tails of sound decaying away are easily distinguishable and followed to its silence.3. The sound images locked-in-the-head feeling has been reduced significantly and the soundscape is now wider, many sounds seem to exist outside the head, even at a distance from one's ears.4. More spatial clues and sound reflections are audible, such as naturally recorded hall ambiance and slap echo against a stage wall.5. The bass is important to most listeners, it being the foundation for the rest and the rhythmic underpinning of music. The 535 excels in this area, even over Shure's 530 earlier model which provided deep bass surely, but not with the 535's impact, solidity and tightness, definition and textures. There are other brands with seemingly MORE bass or lower bass capability. This may be an illusion. For plumbing the deepest bass we have the requirement for very high definition. The 535 is, by a long shot, superior - you need to seal the earbud to your ear canal to hear it in all its glory.6. One can continue describing sonic improvements over earlier designs, but there are space limits. Conclusion: I have not yet heard a more enjoyable, and most importantly, accurate portable device to date. The price, understandably, will be a factor for most people. However for the discerning listener who demands the quality of sound the 535 can furnish and will install CD Redbook standard or higher resolution audio files in their music players/iPods, the Shure 535 will be a stunning addition to their musical enjoyment on the go, in a plane, while exercising, or at home.

5Shure SE535's as good as they say?
By Jed
Fantasmagical! Only non-real words can describe these ear buds! I could talk about these forever but, I'll widdle it down to just a few facts to influence your decision ;)Pros:1. EVERYTHING.2. 2 subwoofer drivers per bud3. 1 tweeter per bud.4. crossover in between them all (No matter what sound level you select they will deliver with zero distortion and acoustical perfection).5. Industrial strength shielded cord.6. Solidly built splitter.7. Gold contacts at ear bud swivels and jack.8. Ear buds swivel to minimize cord tangle.9. Replaceable cord.10. Comfortable in the ear when worn correctly.11. 6 different ear bud grommets to suit each individual ear hole size and depth.12. 37dB of insulation. So say a F-18 Super Hornet is landing right above your berthing - you'll feel the vibrations, but won't hear the noise!! HURRAY!Cons: dun dun dun1. Price. They are worth every penny and you'll be SOL if you have to switch to a lower standard for some unGodly reason.2. The cord. Although it's one of the best I've played with, the shielding inside will make for this little loop to form. One must untwist in the was its wrapped. It isn't that big of a pain, but you want to keep it straight so the cord won't get kinked.3. Swivel ear buds. Fantasmical idea and I wouldn't go back to the other style...EVER. But one should clean it occasionally. (Exceptionally gentle though - theres a mini gold wire centered for the electric to flow through.4. The around the ear loop doesn't hold it's shape very well. It will re-bend when it goes around your ear but it'd be easier if it just stayed. All 4 of the cons aren't really cons. Their just nuances of an amazing piece of technical marvel. These are by far the best ear buds I've used and the best personal sound instruments I've heard - in general! Meaning their better then even the over the ear and around your head types.

5Amazing sound, after they were fixed.
By D. Brown
These earphones sound AMAZING! They are exactly what I would expect to hear after paying $500. But, (and it's a big "But") after using these for slightly over one month the supposed durable cable connector (the part that connects to the ear phone itself) became loose distorting and cutting off sound every time I moved the cable. I figured it was just the cable so I paid an additional $40 for a replacement cable, and quickly discovered it was not the cable itself but the input point on the ear phone! Now I have to send them back to Shure for repair! This in my opinion is simply unacceptable for a pair of $500 earphones hence the 2 star rating! And just a caveat, I in no way mistreated the earphones. They were kept in the case (the case is poor quality btw) when not in use, and were handled exactly as instructed! So, I recommend if you buy these, make sure the connection is not loose, and wiggle the cable while music is playing to make sure there is no break in sound! If so send them back immediately or you'll be stuck having to deal with Shure directly!Got the new pair and they were awesome, so much so, they got stolen. Now I'll have to fork over another $500...geez...

The collection includes a 3-1/2-inch paring knife, a 4-1/2-inch utility knife, eight 4-1/2-inch steak knives, a 6-inch utility knife, a 6-inch cleaver, a 6-inch fork, a 7-inch Santoku, an 8-inch hollow carver, a 9-inch bread knife, and an 8-inch cook's knife, as well as a 9-inch honing steel to keep the blades in good working order. It also comes with a pair of kitchen shears for clipping string, opening packages, or snipping herbs in the garden, and a 22-slot storage block to keep all the pieces neatly organized and within reach.

Made in Solingen Germany, "The Cutlery Capital of the World", Wusthof Classic knives feature a special blend of high-carbon German stainless steel throughout the whole length of the knife for exceptional strength and balance. The knives also provide sharp, precisely tempered blades for safe, efficient use. Laser tested for accuracy, the unique, compound angle of the blade tapers from the spine of the knife to the edge to create a sturdy, yet extremely sharp cutting surface. The blade also tapers from the bolster to the tip for added strength and flexibility. Another thoughtful detail includes the handles. The knives provide triple-riveted, ergonomic handles for a secure, comfortable grip, and they should all be washed by hand with a mild cleanser and dried thoroughly. The 20-piece set measures approximately 16 by 10 by 14 inches and carries a limited lifetime warranty.

3Nice quality set, but unfortunate oversight
By Mark McCallister
Wusthof knives are great knives, and this is a very solid set. Unfortunately, this set includes a 6" fork that does not have a place in the block that they provide. For a manufacturer built set, this is pretty poor attention to detail. The Scissors and Honing Steel both have handles made of cheap plastic, which doesn't pair well with the set. The plastic is soft enough that it was dented/scratched in shipping, just from the knives bouncing into it inside the box.Basically, the knives are great, but the rest of the set leaves something to be desired.

520 YEARS WITH MY WUSTHOF CLASSIC KNIVES: Help for Knife Shoppers
By Carl May
WUSTHOF TRIDENT. This German firm, headquartered in the knife capital of Europe, in Solingen, has been in business since the early 1800's. Over time, Wusthof ascended to the pinnacle of knife manufacturing by innovation, the use of the highest possible quality steel alloys, and impeccable craftsmanship. Attention to detail is almost obsessive. Wusthof knives are the benchmark, the reference, in professional culinary knives...the gold standard by which all other kitchen knives are measured.Wusthof knives are still forged in the traditional manner, and because of that these knives gain the respect of culinary professionals. Cheaper methods could be used, such as the sintered construction of Henckels. These are the CLASSIC design preferred by so many chefs. Inroads by Japanese makers of Japanese blade styles are giving Wusthof some tough competition, so Wusthof has responded by making knife lines incorporating Japanese styling with German precision in manufacture...so you might want to shop those Wusthof styles as well.I can only review what I actually own and use, this Classic line, regardless of how many are in a set. These Wusthof Trident Classic knives have been in my possession, plus a couple of knives more, since 1992. These Wusthof knives are my old friends, and I am on intimate terms with them. To proceed...PROS:*HOT DROP HAMMER FORGED. Stubbornly refusing to change to cheaper, lower-quality methods such as stamping, these knives are still hot drop hammer forged, fully forged blades. The metal used is a fine quality carbon stainless steel alloy common to most top tier German knives such a Henckels, Victorinox/Forschner, and F. Dick.*FULL TANG, RIVETED HANDLE PREFERRED BY MOST CHEFS. The handle is of commercial quality and strength, full-tanged and securely triple riveted in the traditional style preferred by most chefs because of its strength and universally comfortable grip, with sanitary POM synthetic scales (what the handle itself is made of).*HAND-FINISHED. Each blade and handle is hand-finished to a high standard, by HAND. New knives arrive razor sharp, so learn to keep them that way.*HUGE RANGE OF KNIVES, I MEAN HUGE. No other knife manufacturer offers so many different shapes, sizes, lengths, widths, and styles...a mind boggling array of choices. See the online Wusthof catalog: Santokus, both flexible and stiff fillet and boning knives, hollow edged "Granton" or dimpled blades are available in many styles. Wusthof Trident offers various sizes of offset bread knives, salami knives, cleavers, and hard-to-find very long salmon and ham slicers. The selection of blade types is too extensive to list here...go to the Wusthof Trident website.*AT HOME, EXPECT A LIFETIME OF USE. A chef goes through knives far faster than any home cook. For the rest of us, expect decades of use. It is a cheap investment, a pittance, spread over the years. Will the set to the kids.CONS:*COST IS HIGHER THAN AVERAGE, BUT THE QUALITY IS MUCH HIGHER THAN AVERAGE. These quality blades are actually lower in price than much of the Japanese competition. They are a joy to use, and make cooking preparation enjoyable. You look forward to facing the cutting board, at least I do.*HARD TO DEMO IN STORES. Most people like to handle a knife, to try it on the store cutting board to test the comfort of the handle, the balance or heft, or the rocking action of a chef's knife. A few kitchenware stores like Williams-Sonoma or Sur La Table might let you try out knives on their cutting board. Whatever the case may be, make certain that the return policy allows returns if not happy. The comfort and performance of most knife shapes and sizes are important, but not extremely critical, though the chef's knife IS of critical importance. When you receive your knives test your chef's knife with various cuts, if not happy then return them. Or order the chef's knife first and test it. If you like it then order the other matching knives._______________________________________________________________________________________WHAT KNIVES DO YOU REALLY NEED?Speaking from experience, instead of the set pictured above, in its knife block, I recommend buying open stock so you only buy what you REALLY need, and what you REALLY will use 99% of the time, what most chefs have in their Knife Roll. A minimalist knife set is just three Essential Knives: Chef's knife, paring knife, and bread knife. Over time, when you are certain you have all the knives you want, then buy a knife block, or buy a larger block and slowly fill it over time. Some folks like a magnetic knife bar mounted on the wall above the cutting board...buy the largest one you can find, or two smaller ones, as the space soon becomes crowded with blades. As mentioned above, you might begin your knife assortment with just the three most essential blades: a chef's knife, a paring knife, and a serrated bread knife. A more useful, realistic selection is about double that...consider going with six blades. Anything more than the six knives listed below will seldom be used, unless you have some very specific needs...and if so, you can always buy that needed blade at the start, or at a later time as the need keeps arising, rather than buy a large quiver of knives, most of which just sit there year after year, seldom, if ever, being needed or used. Buying only the knives you need, is buying smarter: it means you can afford the cost of a few high quality, durable, and super performing knives. Before going into more detail, let us start at the beginning...THE THREE ESSENTIAL KNIVES1) 10" CHEF'S KNIFE: An 8" Chef's Knife is a bit short for a pile of veggies; most chefs use a 9"-12" blade. Jacques Pepin urges a 10" blade for home use even if you are short in stature or have a small hand; you soon become accustomed to it...never go smaller than 9" if you only have one chef's knife, in my opinion. Do not buy a Granton blade model...the plain edge lasts longer.2) 3.5" SPEAR POINT PARING KNIFE: for peeling, slicing, garnishing, eyeing, and stemming of veggies/fruits. Afteryour Chef's Knife, the Paring Knife is the next most useful knife in your knife quiver.3) 9" SERRATED BREAD KNIFE: or consider the very popular 8"-9" Offset Bread/Deli Knife serrated model (for good clearance of the knuckles from the cutting board). Longer blades slice ALL sizes of bread, boules, and "country" loaves. If you do not buy very large bread loaves, then an 8" blade is fine, otherwise 9"-10" is the best blade length. A Bread Knife can be used for meat and poultry slicing, but the serrated edge can sometimes tear the flesh when cutting against the grain. Slicing and Carving Knives work much better.THE NEXT THREE MOST IMPORTANT KNIVES4) 6" FLEXIBLE BONING KNIFE: for separating the bone from the meat, AND for filleting fish; separate boning and fillet knives are then not needed. This model has a dual-purpose flex. If you do a great deal of meat/poultry boning, or filleting of fish, buy separate knives for each function, such as a 5"-6" Stiff Boning Knife, and a 7" Flexible Fillet Knife. Most people can get by with this single somewhat flexible blade unless you often fillet fish which requires a dedicated, very flexible Fillet Knife; or if you frequently bone meats which requires a stiffer, dedicated Boning Knife.5) 10" ROUND TIP BEEF (& Ham) SLICER - Granton Edge: dimpled edge; a more stiff blade for slicing larger beef cuts and and hot meats. Some chefs also use it for poultry; to slice chicken or turkey breasts and de-boned thighs instead of using the more flexible "Carving Knife" discussed below. The Beef Slicer is often used in delicatessens and sandwich shops to thinly slice large cuts of meat. Some home cooks prefer an 8"-10" Spear Point Carving Knife, for versatility, instead of a 10" Round Tip Beef Slicer. Research this for yourself if you have not yet decided. Longer blades make thin-slicing easier, shorter ones cut more precisely to match small meats, poultry, or medium to large fruits and veggies. The Slicer can also be used for salmon, but salmon lovers will eventually buy a specialized, long and very flexible, thinner bladed Granton Fillet/Salmon Slicer. Some chefs use this "Beef/Ham" knife when lacking a true butcher's knife for fabrication (breaking down a side of beef or very large cut such as entire loin or a full rack of ribs).6) 5" SERRATED UTILITY KNIFE (or "sausage knife"): serrated edge with a sheep's foot tip, or perhaps the somewhat specialized fork-tipped, serrated Tomato Knife. This smaller, precise serrated blade is superior to all others for fruit/citrus, tomatoes, sandwiches, rolls, and smaller, precise slicing jobs where a slippery, tough outer surface, or hard crust must be dealt with. Of course, it also cuts softer surfaces too, and can do anything a plain edged Utility Knife can do. This knife is also popular with bartenders when making drinks needing citrus slices. The Scalloped Utility Knife is an always useful, often overlooked blade.SPECIALIZED or OPTIONAL KNIVES* 2.75" BIRD'S BEAK PARING, PEELING, OR TOURNE KNIFE: for peeling rounded foods, "turning" or "shaping" veggies and small fruits, stemming or fluting mushrooms, scoring, and several other garnishing tasks. Always included in a culinary student's knife roll, but not often used in home cooking except, on occasion, by advanced home cooks.* 8"-10" SPEAR POINT CARVING KNIFE: Granton Edge: spear point with dimpled edge; more flexible than the Round Tip Slicer. For deft carving, especially if you cut up poultry very often; for turkey, chicken, duck, large fruits and veggies, and for general slicing buy the 8" size. The Carving Knife is the ideal poultry slicer, but it can slice beef or ham, but not as well as a Beef Slicer. Some chefs use an 8" Carving Knife for small-to-medium boning and slicing, as a large Utility Knife/Carving Knife (most Utility/Sandwich Knives are 4"-6"). If you intend to buy no other slicing knives than this Spear Point Carving Knife, opting not to buy the 10" Round Tip Beef (& Ham) Slicer detailed above, consider buying a longer 10" Spear Point Carving Knife (longer blades make it easier to slice more thinly, but if buying both, buy the 8" Carving Knife and the 10" Round Tip "Beef" Slicer).* 5"-6" STIFF BONING KNIFE: the stiff blade provides more control and safety when working around ribs and large bones, preventing slipping. The stout blade is also perfect for testing the doneness of cooking meats. If you rarely fillet fish, then select this blade alone instead of the Flexible Boning Knife discussed above, or the Flexible Fillet Knife discussed below.* 7" FLEXIBLE FILLET KNIFE: a very flexible blade, specialized for filleting fish, and for slicing poultry very thinly, such as carpaccio. If you very often prepare fish, it is best to buy a whole fish and fillet it yourself, because you can better determine freshness with a whole fish instead of a pre-packaged fillet. If you opt for this blade, then instead of the 6" Flexible Boning Knife listed above (used for both filleting AND boning), use this longer, specialized 7" Flexible Fillet Knife just for your filleting, then go with the more specialized 5"-6" Stiff Boning Knife just for the boning jobs.* 7" SANTOKU KNIFE: hollow edge (Granton). This versatile blade often is selected in preference to a smaller 8" Chef's Knife. Use it for precision chopping and slicing; for the deft chopping of smaller amounts of veggies, and for exacting general slicing jobs. Perfect for mincing garlic and shallots as well.* 6"-7" MEAT CLEAVER: this specialized design is needed if you often do small butchering, breaking down a large cut of meat(fabrication). It will chop through thick bone, gristle, and ribs that would chip and damage other knives.ESSENTIAL KNIFE ACCESSORIES1) 10" STEEL (honing steel): Absolutely required to keep your knife edge honed as sharp as possible. Always hone with your steel prior to cutting--get in the habit of doing so.2) KNIFE SHARPENER: Buy the best you can afford. Arkansas stones are good...it pays to research the new sharpeners and knife sharpening websites. If you use hand held sharpeners it is critical that you ensure that the sharpener angle matches that of your knives or you will damage your blades.3) CARVING FORK: Required to hold meat, poultry, or large fish securely while carving and slicing.4) KITCHEN SHEARS: As you know, Kitchen Shears are endlessly useful for snipping string, opening packaging, and for cutting some foods. If you cut up whole poultry very often then Poultry Shears should also be bought to make cutting easier and faster than with a knife, in many cases.I hope this helps you in your knife shopping.Carl May

Some chefs use this "Beef/Ham" knife lacking a true butcher's knife for fabrication (breaking down a side of beef or very large cut such as entire loin or a full rack of ribs).6) 5" SERRATED UTILITY KNIFE (or "sausage knife"): serrated edge with a sheep's foot tip, or perhaps the somewhat specialized fork-tipped, serrated Tomato Knife.

What a great set of knives! People be aware these are commercial grade knives (like i told my wife and sons and the wife cut her finger and finger nail!)they will slice through your fingers like they will a piece of meat. That means in a nut shell these knives are great! No complaints only compliments. The bread knife is just as sharp as the other knives! You'll enjoy cooking a lot more with these knives.
