Product Description
Thunder Power RC’s TP61C-ACDC is an AC/DC multi-chemistry charger/discharger/cycler and balancer system. The built-in AC power supply allows the charger to be easily and conveniently powered from a 1-24V outlet while the included DC input power leads can be connected to 12V lead-acid/gel cell batteries for charging at the flying field or outdoor track. The TP61C-ACDC also includes the ability to charge, discharge and cycle a wide variety of 1-6S LiPo, and LiFe (A123) batteries, as well as 1-14 cell NiCad and NiMH along with 6-12V Pub (lead-acid) batteries. The built-in LiPo//LiFe cell balancer and included balance connector adapter board are readily compatible with all Thunder Power balance connectors and the JST-XH balance connectors found on most other brand batteries. Excellent Charger

After using this charger for two months I can say that this is one of the better chargers I have used. It has it's own AC Power Supply making it quick and easy to just plug into the wall. The battery recovery feature has saved me quite a few times as I run my truck and it's 2 Lipos until it just won't move anymore. Set up is extremely easy. Once it's set up it defaults to that battery pack type every time. Charging a Lipo 7.4 5000 mAh battery from fully dead takes about 1 hour. Charger beeps to notify that charging is complete. It has a reminder that stops after a certain amount of time as well. Batteries will not overcharge. This may cost a little more than some other chargers, but the versatility is amazing. You can also set cycles for NiCd Recovery. Overall an excellent charger for experienced and inexperienced hobbyists.

Works well. My only note is, the buttons are pretty stiff, that is, they require more pressure to push than I would expect. This isn't bad, but at first I thought it was broken because I thought I was pushing the buttons and nothing was happening. I was getting ready to return it, when a friend tried it and you just have to press fairly hard. But now that I'm familiar with this, it's no problem. I especially like the AC/DC option, much better way to go. Good product, I'd recommend it.

I purchased this charger because I felt that a battery manufacturer would know how to design a charger that would extend the life of their products and enhance the performance. The TP610C proved me right. This charger is beautifully built has done a great job. I've used it down to 1 cell 150ma LiPo's and been able to weed out some weak cells that would have made for a very short flight. I've also used it for 3 cell 2500ma LiPos and even lead/acid 12 volt gel/cells.The four buttons on the charger actually have the functionally of six. The buttons on the left and right have different functions when held over 1 second. Holding the left button (over a second) will call up the setup menu where you can set parameters not normally available on other units. Of most interest to me is the charge mode where you can select 50% charge, 95% charge or 100% charge. Until I'm ready to fly, the 50% charge is a great option where the battery is usable for test runs but also ready for the field in 1/2 the time it would normally take to charge. It prevents re-charging a charged battery just to make sure it's peaked.The clear backlit LCD display shows the status of the charge including Current and Voltage. The charger goes through a checking procedure to make sure that your settings are correct and the battery is ready to be charged. During the LiPo charge cycle, the charger will switch between constant current and constant voltage and the display will let you know. Pressing the left button, will confirm the setup parameters for the charge. Holding the left button will show the balancer status. Holding the right button will start the charge/discharge cycle and pressing it will stop charge/discharge. So even if the book is hard to understand, the charger really is easy to operate.The TP610C is a high performance quality charger, with a versatile balancer adapter. Take some time to learn its features and you and your batteries should be very happy.
