So pretty...and so painful

The other reviewer has it right - the back zipper rubs horribly and there is just no way to make these work. When I first tried them on the zipper was instantly uncomfortable, but I figured if I broke the boots in a little it would get better. Well, I broke them in by watching TV on the couch for an hour and even though I was immobile, I still ended up with red marks on my Achilles tendon area. I don't even want to think about how much pain I would have been in if I had been walking around. I took the boots off my feet, zipped them up and stuck my hand inside to feel the zipper area. Sure enough, the zipper bulges way inwards at the ankle area even when there's no foot in them. It's the design of the boot, and the effect of the big metal zipper teeth rubbing on your skin can be likened to a cheese grater. The color and style were perfect, but I have to return these. My boot search continues...

Gorgeous, but the back zipper rubs

I really wanted to love these boots, because they look great on. The buckles and zippers add a lot of interest, and the leather is very soft to the touch. That said, the zipper that runs up the back of the leg looks great, BUT rubbed my Achilles tendon really badly. I tried adjusting the boots, wearing with different socks, and wearing with and without jeans tucked in. Nothing I did helped, and just walking around the house caused a raw spot on the backs of both ankles. So disappointed, but these had to go back.

awesome boots!

I have always wanted a red leather riding boot, and now I have found them..I read a few reviews and was a little concerned, but I love them..I do not have any problem with the zipper up the back. I stand all day at work, and find these boots very comfortable..I would love to have another pair in brown..I'm glad I purchased them and didn't listen solely to another review I read, because, I love my boots, Jul663
