This newest generation Plasmaglow LED Tailgate Bar is microprocessor controlled and features red or amber sequential scanning LEDs for your turn signals, red LEDs for your brake lights, red LEDs for running lights, and white LEDs for reverse lights. 3M self-adhesive pads mount the LED Brake Light below your tailgate so the bar itself is not visible, only the light emitting from it. There are 2 versions of this bar; you can get it with amber turn signals, or red turn signals. This is the only bar on the market to feature full fluid scanning motion turn signals. It is available in 60 inch length for full-size trucks, 48 inch length for mid-size trucks and 36 inch for compact trucks with Stepside; 1-year warranty. This item requires wiring. Great lights! Tough to maintain

Let me begin that I purchased these for a 1998 Ford Explorer; not the absolute ideal conditions for these lights, but they are still completely covered by the hatch and protected by the rain and sun much like a tailgate.These lights were professionally installed by a very reputable company in my local area.You can really tell that you paid the extra money for these lights, they shine much much brighter than those cheap bars from Pep Boys. The neat design of this light bar is that each light is spread apart enough that it is its own individually bulb and that look is very distinct. The scanning turn signal is awesome! When I place the truck in reverse these extra lights really brighten things up back there to making backing up in the dark just that much more easy!With that said, I am having difficulty maintaining these lights. They most certainly do not like car washes which I should have known that! The lights did fog up for a bit during the hot and humid times during the summer but this problem seemed to go away and not come back so far. The adhesives Plasmaglow provided were a joke for plastic applications. The tape did not want to adhere. I eventually used automotive Seal All and that seemed to do the truck. Recently it seems that the vibrations of the road has caused a lose connection with the constant red lights which are on when the headlights are. After some messing around with the light-bar I was able to find that the wires going directly into the bar was a tad lose and I was able to rectify this issue.Overall I would not install these lights on another Explorer, but maybe one would have better luck with an actual truck application!

The LED's are bright and the scanning turn signals are awesome, but the installation was a female dog at best. The wiring itself wasn't bad but there isn't enough room for it on a 2000 Tacoma, so I had to do some serious improvising with saws, grinders, drills, and all kinds of destructive tools.Now that I have it installed and set up, I love it, but it would be nice if they had some kind of list of what rigs it fit without much effort before you drop a chunk of change.Before you buy, make sure you have a couple inches of clearance between your bed and tailgate.
