Unresponsive tech support/ no stars

The good stuff: starts easy hot or cold, cuts well, low vibration, average fuel usage, easy to useThe bad stuff: The sprocket on the chain bar constantly freezes. I replaced the bar and chain and the condition still exists. I can cut three logs and the sprocket freezes. I have tried greasing the sprocket before each cut and it still freezes. Chain oiler appears to be working correctly. I have been back to the dealer 10 plus times with no resolution to the problem. Escalated the problem to Husqvarna. They say there is nothing wrong with the saw. It must be something I am doing wrong. I have used chain saws for over 60 years and never have had a problem like this. Being unresponsive and telling me I am wrong is not the way to do business. Even though this saw has a two year warranty, I had to pay for the new bar and chain within the two year period!!!!

Great saw. I bought the 16 inch 445 Perfect for Recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Starting Instructions Could have been better

Ok, I am still splitting the twenty trees I had to deal with that went down due to Hurricane Sandy. This saw was perfectly matched for cutting up what we faced here on this small farm. I should have had a good saw like this years ago - but had an old underpowered saw from Sears that would not start. I also have a very good electric saw made by Makita - but with no electric power due to the storm - and more trees than ever to deal with - the Husqvarna did the job.I bought the 445 with the 16 inch chain which was fine - even though this listing mentions the 18 inch model. The 16 was easily long enough for every situation. I also bought an electric chain sharpener too extend the life of the used chain. And I bought and needed a few extra chains, the correct oils, the blue carrying case, and all of the Husqvarna outer wear for protection.My only complaint is how the starting instructions seem to be such a mystery at first - and this could have been explained far better with clear pictures and better written text. And this is especially so when starting the saw after it has been warmed from use. Steps for chain replacement could also be better as I almost did not have the brake in the right position when I was taking off the orange clutch cover plate. All is well though I had to figure this out as I went along.I should add that Youtube videos on each topic were very helpful.I would buy this saw again without hesitation. Hopefully I will not need it as much as we did these past months.

I have cut 15 to 20 loads of firewood with this saw over the last 1-1/2years with flawless performance. oak, mulbury, hedge, ash, elm, walnut, honey locust, wet(green) and dry wood, from 15deg to 85deg...no problems. I use the husqvarna xp oil and woodland pro saw chain, which is not a low kickback chain but you will not believe how this combo will shread wood. i also use a husqvarna 460rancher 20" but have quickly learned that most cutting is easier done with the 445 16" and would certainly pick the 16" if i could only hav one saw.
