Loved and let go; Narrow bail

I wanted an amethyst necklace to go with a ring I have and finally decided upon this one. It came and it was a beauty. But I wanted to put it on a different gold chain. The chains they send these things out on are so dainty that only a 16 year old with little bitty fingers can get them on, so I wanted a different gold chain with the necklace. I have such a necklace and it was all ready for this beautiful drop, but the bail was too small/narrow for my necklace/chain, so with much regret I had to return it. One other detail to be aware of: I thought the drop would be bigger than the picture, but it is the same size as the picture shows, so it is pretty but also quite small. I guess that is why it is a pretty little thing on a pretty little chain. I felt kind of like a clodhopper next to it..like I was all arms, legs, hands and feet. But that is a personal problem and has nothing to do with you or the necklace. I loved it, but had to let it go.
