Excellent low profile leather case for iPad

I purchased this, site unseen, to replace the Apple brand case. The Apple brand case did a decent enough job of protecting my iPad but it was always nasty and filthy looking with lots of fingerprints and I really did not like how the sharp creases on the plastic case dug into my hands when holding it for more than a few minutes.The SGP Vintage case is a great solution for someone who just wants a stylish high quality case to protect their iPad around the house without adding a lot of bulk. It has a form fitting design that actually clasps the iPad, so no straps, velcro, buttons, etc, are needed to keep it in place. The iPad has never once become loose or fallen out of the case. The lid has a similar molded lip that uses friction to keep the lid closed and in place. This is a really sharp design and I'm surprised no one else is building a case like this. It's also substantially less expensive than other premium leather cases from Vaja, etc.The case does have a thin leather lip that extends all the way around the outer edge, to protect the iPad from the occasional fall... this is not however some kind of ruggedized case where you would want to pitch the iPad down a flight of concrete steps, as it would likely get some scuffing, etc, if that happened.It's also worth noting that while you can prop the case open and it does leave a bit of an incline for typing, this is not a case that's going to give you multiple viewing angles with the iPad. I've never really used my iPad that way so it's really no big concern to me.Consider this case if you want a very high quality leather case, with a nice soft red cloth interior, to protect your iPad, not add much bulk and look and feel super stylish!

Beautiful Case, Not So Great Customer Service with SGP

After 7 days of light use the metal case under the layer of suede started showing through in spots. I have posted photos of the metal showing through on this amazon page. When I contacted SGP Pouch and asked them for a refund, or preferably, another case I received no response. This was really surprising given the rave reviews of this product and its cost. All that said I still love this case but buyer beware. SGP apparently dose not respond by buyer problems. Pity.Hats off to the person that makes these cases. You can really see the love and attention to detail in their construction. I think my case is just an odd one out with too thin suede. This review would be 5 Stars if SGP would respond to customer emails.

I just love this case. I bought it directly from SGP because it was sold out here at Amazon, but it's amazing. I had a Vaja Agenda for awhile, which I returned because it was too heavy. This is very light, very low profile, the iPad clips in and is very secure, and the "feel" of the case is awesome.It's much lighter in color than shown in the photos -- the color is closer to dark khaki than the aged leather shown in the photos -- but it ages really nicely over time: it gets darker and dirtier as you use it, and it starts to look like a real "vintage" leather item after about two weeks of regular work. I love it -- your milage may vary.My only complaint> The bizarre quirkly quotation printed on the inside cover -- what kind of flower child designed this? Otherwise, I think it's the base case I have tried and I have tried any different folio versions.Note: this is a no-frills case. There is no stand, it doesn't stand up when typing, and it's not designed to be used other than in your hands.
