Love this topcase!
By Steven S. Ritchie
The E55 topcase is huge and beautiful. It's Italian-designed and the paint and finish are awesome. I bought the Tech version with full padded liner, push-button remote unlock, and the Admore LED Kit for my 2009 V-Strom 650. The stock Givi LED brake light LEDs were nothing compared to the Admore kit's powerful brightness and dual color LEDs. I now have yellow turn signals, red running lights, and super bright brake lights that flash 3 times quickly then stay on steadily. The LEDs are right at eye level for cage drivers, and are blow-away bright. I spent about 4 hours installing the LED kit and have a total of 3-4 hours to fit the case, rack adaptor, and wire in all functions. It all went together well.I have had 4 bags of groceries in it which probably exceeded the 22 lb rated payload, but the trip was short and smooth. It holds 2 large helmets without problems. It could hold enough clothes and a rain suit for 5 days out, I would think.I also bought the optional silver gloss painted top cover. It matches my bike and the paint work is great, but the engineering and materials that Givi used for fastening the cover were poor. The tiny, weak bosses on the cover were meant to receive screws from the inside, but the thin wall thickness of the bosses and soft crumbly plastic gave way after removing the screws twice. I now have two bolt heads sticking out of the top case, but they are chrome and look decent. It is almost like Givi knew this would happen. They styled in a group of circular indents on the top surface. One of them on each side lined up exactly with each of the two bosses. Now fastened With Nylock nuts and 1/4-20 bolts, my glossy silver cover will never come off unless I remove it!The best convenience of the E55 top case is walking up to it within 30 feet or so and popping the case top open. No messing around with keys! I always seem to have my hands full when I walk to my bike to depart. In the morning when I warm up the bike, the last thing I want to do is shut the motor down when I forget to put something in the top case, so I reach over to the small remote on my bike key chain and pop the lid. One thing that takes getting used to is closing the top. It requires quite a bit of pressure to close it, and it makes a very small click, but at least it can be felt if not heard. It uses a solenoid to open the cover, and it makes a fairly loud buzz. It's great for scaring kids when they try to touch the case!! :<))Even though I have had a few problems with the case, I would heartily recommend it. It's a great piece that added a lot to my bike. It isn't just a box to throw things into. It has added conspicuousness and safety to my daily rides. And it has recently been tested (against my will) for watertight integrity. I got caught in a huge downpour for half an hour last month, and the case didn't leak a drop. Now I want the FRONT of my bike to stand out. I want to add Admore's "strip" turn signal LEDs to my V-Strom's hand guards, and those nice bright Denali LED lights (Twisted Throttle) at automobile rear-view mirror level. I commute in Chicago suburbs, and it has to be at the top of the "bad places to ride" list, with lots of sloppy, careless, slow, distracted drivers. It was a really big letdown coming from California, where people drive very well on the whole, a lot like Europe.

Great Top Case
By Mr. James L. Baker Jr.
I bought this top case for my 2010 Kawasaki Concours 14 and with the mounting plate from - [...]/ I got a smooth setup. The mounting plate is easy to install and it's all you need to snap in the case and go. The size of the case is great and it does nothing affect the bike's ride. Now I only wish Amazon sold the lighting kit but I'll have to get that from an Admore Light dealer.

Big!
By Phil Geusz
This is a huge topcase. I used to own a Givi e52 which I liked very much, and this box in most ways is as good or better. I'm having trouble with the unusual latch, however, and I wish they'd used a simpler, more familiar system. Otherwise, I would've given it five stars despite the price.
