Good Sander for Small Items, Low HP
By Kevin Hardiman
Good construction, easy to assemble and use. Very low horse power; the motor winds down quickly when leaning into heaving sanding jobs running the risk of burning out the motor. Great for light to medium sanding. Satisfied.

OK sander with some issues.
By Fred
This is the same sander as the Hitachi SB10Y. The motor is rated for 1/3HP but is plenty strong. The way the table is attached with one round steel bar results in a lot of flex. Further cannot align table edge parallel to the disc. That is when adjusting 1/16" gap between the disc and the table, one end of the table at 1/16" but the other end is rubbing against the disc badly. Moreover part of the disc is recessed in the plastic disc shroud cover making one side of the disc useless in sanding longer wood stocks. Machine misaligned from factory or maybe dropped before I received it.I was not able to find a graceful way to adjustment the misalignment. I had to remove the frame/cover and try to twist it back into alignment but only could do it partially such that the disc no longer recessed into the disc shroud protective cover. Better but still not parallel to the table. Next will try to shim the mounting bracket. The drive belt should last a long time but changing it could be major challenge as the disc is press fit. Maybe there is a trick in changing the belt. When removing the bottom cover trying the align the machine I discovered a lot of wood dust trapped in every nook and cranny so that would be a maintenance issue. The miter is plastic, not a big deal I have a good one from my table saw.Other than those issues, the disc works well.

Great so far...
By El Guapo
I was a little worried about this sander, given some of the reviews I read before purchasing. But I've had it for a couple months now and it has been extremely useful and problem free from the first day it was received. It arrived quickly, packaged well and free of damage. I will say that it was largely covered in some hideously toxic-smelling grease that took a bit of effort to clean off, but that sort of thing is unfortunately not uncommon with foreign-made tools. The unassembled parts, like the table, were extremely easy and fast to set up, and I was able to use the sander right away. It is not made to the tightest tolerances on the planet, and the table is a bit rough, but it works just fine for my purposes. So far, so good.
