A very good knife

I wanted a holdout fixed blade for my desert boots. I can't remember how ESEE hit my radar, I had never used their stuff when I was active duty. But when I asked friends, particularly army friends, they said good things. So I took a chance and bought the Izula 2. It was just the size I wanted, and works well as a holdout. I ended up lacing it in front of the tongue instead of sheathing it on the side, so I'm glad for the holes in the sheath.As this is meant as a holdout, I don't use the knife regularly. So I can't report on how it holds up to the abuse i subject my utility knife to. I will say that I was disappointed that it came from the factory with a rather dull edge. Maybe other folks prefer to finish off the edge themselves, but shining boots and sharpening knives are two talents I have always sucked at.Also, don't waste your money on the "survival kit." I knew better, but I got it anyway. If you are the type of person who might use it, you already have paracord and a magnesium striker.I don't want to end this review on a negative note. This knife is made with very good steel and is a good size and shape for multiple tactical purposes. It's staying in my boot.
