The Techzilla

I personally have at one time or another owned most of the models of the Techzilla since it began being made in 2004, and out of all of them this has been my favorite. I prefer a bat with a balanced to slightly endloaded feel, so the Techzilla is a perfect fit for my swing. The Techzilla hits well right out of the wrapper, but I would say it does have a break-in period of between 50-150 swings before you start getting the best performance. I say this because over time I did see a slight improvement in performance and feel. This Techzilla is the most balanced that I have swung, so I'm glad that I went a little bit heavier with a 29 oz bat. That being said, I would probably be comfortable using a 28 but a 29 seems just right. I began using this bat almost exclusively last summer, and by the end of the year it had become the main bat used by both my summer and fall league teams. I got good pop out of it, as a gap hitter with occasional homerun power it has served me very well. The sweetspot is very easy to find in my experience. Also, despite having been used as a team bat, it is still perfectly round and aside from some scratches and a little paint chip here or there is in fantastic shape. If you're looking for a bat with good pop that will last you a long time, look no further. Especially if you are in a metal-only league, and even if you aren't, give the Techzilla a try.
