5PROMARK RECIEVER HITCH MOUNT.
By george vinson
this portable mount works for me. it fits my 12000 lb mile marker winch, i had my winch in a brush guard winch mount on my 03 gmc 2500. then i traded to a 08 chevy 2500. the new model was wider than the brush guard, but it did fit the new body style. then i traded to 2011 gmc serra.i desided to just make a portable winch rig. so i got a front reciver hitches for the gmc and my jeep. if i think i will need the winch i put in the veh. if i know i will need it i mount it in the front reciever hitch. you could use this in a rear reciever hitch, the longer wire would be expenses to reach to the back of a truck.you could carry a extra battery for short pulls. i have carried a 2000 lb portabe winch and a battery and chain in woods i could not drive to, to make short pulls. a portable winches is very usefull back saver.

3Sturdy but Poor Quality Control
By billzcat1
I purchased this mobile-mount winch cradle as a replacement for a Harbor Freight winch cradle that was just too flimsy. Long story short: this product is sturdy but has very poor quality control. Full story:My original order came promptly but when I began assembling, I found that I could not get a hitch pin through the receiver end of the cradle. The hole for the hitch pin was drilled incorrectly, to the point that one side was .095" offset from the other. That might not sound like much, but that's almost 1/8" and it was far enough off that a 5/8" hitch pin would not pass through. I contacted the seller to get a replacement but eventually had to file a claim through Amazon to get them to respond. The replacement unit had the same defect, only the hitch pin was off .065" this time, closer, but still too far off to get a hitch pin through. I contacted Probus again and received no response. I then received a refund through Amazon for the defective product.I wound up using the defective replacement. It took several hours of tweaking, testing, reaming out the hole, and drilling a new hole for the hitch pin. I also found that the side handles (that bolt to the base) were warped and the base itself was tweaked with respect to the receiver mount (about 5-7°). It is clear that the quality control and manufacturing processes are pretty poor, like it was free-hand welded without a jig. The included hardware is metric class 4.8, very weak, but acceptable for the handles which hold very little load. After modification, the unit works well. It is very heavy duty, 1/4" steel and the welds all have good penetration. Having cut and drilled on the unit, I can say that the steel is fairly good quality, likely cold-rolled mild steel. The powder coating is thick and durable. The fitment is very tight on an 8000lb winch; I would not recommend trying to put a 9500lb winch or a winch with a large housing like a Warn 9.5Ti, 8274, or PowerPlant (which would be way too heavy anyway) on this type of mobile mount.Mounting and carrying the mount and winch assembly is easier than my old winch mount due to the handle design, despite being more weighty, about 110lbs assembled. At the end of the day, this winch mount took me a lot of work to make it functional, but now that it is together, it works well. It was a tough decision to choose 2 or 3 stars. On one hand, I never received a functional product from the seller. On the other hand, it turned out to be free and I made it work for my needs. If you receive one with the hitch pin hole in the correct location, it would be an easy 3-4 stars.
