Nice coat, but odd fit

I purchased the coat on the basis of the look and color. Both are nice, the fabric is a wool blend and fairly heavy. The color is lovely, and looks more purple than on the website. The coat is also fully lined and has nice details. I did notice the buttons had hanging threads, and would probably loosen and detach (this is a common problem, so it didn't really faze me). I am 5'8", 135 pounds, muscular but slender and fairly flat-chested. I liked the length of the coat, which was about the same on me as on the model. The sleeves were also plenty long, which was nice, since I have longish arms and sleeve length is often a problem. I have worn a size medium (8 or 10) my whole life. I ordered a 10 in this coat, which fit everywhere, except across the shoulders and tops of the arms. In this area it was so tight I could barely get the coat on. Since the coat fit everywhere else, I don't think I could order a larger size and have it work. I think I understand why it is on sale -- the fit is peculiar! If you have a bust larger than a B, large arms or broad shoulders, this coat is definitely not for you! Even if you're flat and slender like me, it still might not work for you. It is a pretty coat, though and if you still want to try it, order at least one size up.

Very beautiful coat

I bought it in purple haze and the color is just wonderful. It is lightweight and warm (60 % wool). The length is as shown on the model (I am about 5.6 feet).I was a bit afraid to order it based on the previous review, but I am glad I did. For me the size was very true (I am 116 pounds, size 2, but it has some space for layering and is not too loose to wear over a thin sweater). The arm length is as it should be, so overall the coat looks and fits so great.It is made in Guatemala, not regular Chinese stuff and that does show - there are plenty of cute details, the buttons do not need strengthening and there are no loose threads.I would recommend this coat, it is so beautiful and stylish, fits great and is warm for a coat.

I followed the other reviewers comments and ordered a size 12 because I have muscular arms but small bust. I usually wear a size 8 or 10. The shoulders were a little tight while the lower part ballooned around. I do like swing coats but the fabric of this coat is stiff and doesn't drape. The decorative dropped waist with fake belt loops just makes it stick out further from your body, making you look really plump. My husband is no fashionista and he vetoed it before I even got it completely buttoned up. If the fabric were softer and you could belt it, it would be a pretty coat. It has construction details like a piped lining that are very nice.
