The kids love it!
By Tax Lawyer
After reading the below two reviews, I was a little worried that this racetrack would fall apart or be low quality or not fun, etc. I shouldn't have worried. My 6 and 9 year old kids love it! They have been playing it literally non-stop for three days.It is pretty easy to put together--everything just snaps together. If cars stop running, you will want to look over the track to make sure that the track pieces are still all connected. If a track piece separates from the rest, the power stops. The cars are very fast, even at the beginner power setting (there are three power settings). You will want to use the guard rails on the hairpin turns to help keep the cars on the track, especially if you increase the power setting. If the cars flip off the tracks, the chances are they will eject the little springs under the copper contacts under the car. They include a couple extra springs in the box. I would probably pick up a few extra on Amazon, too. You need the springs to make contact with the power rails in the tracks. This track has been a super big hit with the boys. Very worth the money.

Wicked Fast!
By Richard Green
This is a great track and set up. The cars are fast! The different power levels are perfect for our differences in skills. We redid the set up to exclude the squeeze lanes....they caused unnecessary slowdowns and crashes. One thing that would be a welcome improvement would be to include the various track combos that can be built with the track supplied in the set.

good set
By Curtis
This set has been a lot of fun for my 10 yr old right out of the box. He can build his own layouts and race the car in intermediate without leaving the track too often.Comments:RC cars are a hobby, not a toy. All RC car sets require a lot of maintenance to keep them in peak running condition. You have to clean the cars frequently, especially if you have pets or run on carpet (not recommended). Read in forums and in the instructions about how to best clean the cars. Don't even bother getting it if you can't or won't do maintenance.Pros:Easy to set up, easy to run.No problems with track connectivity.Car integrity is good. I have only one instance where springs came out in hours of running, and this was caused by a misaligned track joint.Lots of accessories you can add down the line.Cons:One controller is poorly assembled. The trigger makes intermittent contact with the resistor when pulled straight like a gun trigger, so the car occasionally just stops. I quickly learned to apply a slight sideways force to the trigger to ensure 100% good contact, and even my son could use it after I showed him how.One of the cars stops running reliably after 1/2 hour or so of run time. I can recover full performance by completely cleaning the contacts, axles, etc, but I have not isolated the exact cause of the problem.Tips:Run in beginner mode for at least 5 minutes each time you cold start. You can just hold the trigger all the way down while the tracks and pickups get cleaned and get the motor gets hot. SANDING THE TRACKS IS BAD. This will destroy them quickly.Throw away the sandpaper that comes with the set and use a rubber "wedge" eraser. The tip on the wedge is useful for reaching corners in the pickups.Get a set of fine-tip tweezers for cleaning out dust and hair.Buy a third car if you want to have two running reliably all the time. Each car is different, and you will rapidly come to prefer one over the others.
