Handcrafted using the same techniques that were developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. The colors on this floor lamp are green and blue hues with white calla lily motifs. The shade has a scalloped blue edge. This shade is thin glass and the pieces are soldered to copper wire and then treated which is the technique formulated by Tiffnay.

The glare problem is real

As others have said, the lamps from Serena D'italia are sturdy and stable, and beautiful, but (as a reviewer mentioned on another lamp) there is a glare problem that needs to be dealt with. Also, the sockets are kind-of cheap.When I tried to decide among several of the Tiffany-style lamps from Serena D'italia, not all of my questions were answered, so I'm going to try to answer them here. First of all, even though the official photo does not show pull chain switches on this calla lily lamp, this one does have them. Second, while every other part of the lamp feels like quality, the sockets don't. They twist, the chains don't always pull smoothly, and you have to hold the socket while you screw in the bulb. Unfortunately, it seems like ALL lamps are made with cheap sockets these days.Third, the bulbs on all Serena D'italia Tiffany-style lamps are mounted parallel to the floor, at right angles to the lamp pole. Because of this, if you're sitting at a certain level below the lamp, the shades are not long enough to shield your eyes from the bottom of the bulbs, as they should. (What is a shade for, anyway?)I really wanted to keep these lamps so I made a few adjustments to compensate for this. Ikea sells (or used to?) compact fluorescents that are two (medium)-long tubes instead the pigtail/corkscrew type, and that helped a little. You can also turn the lamp so that the bottoms of the bulbs are not quite as noticeable from where you're sitting. Then I took a pair of pliers (and a rag to protect the finish) and bent up the stems that hold the sockets away from the light pole. That helped the most.I uploaded two more photos to better show the shade detail. This colors of this lovely lamp are perfect for blue, green, and cool gray furnishings.

Our lamp arrived this week and it is beautiful. The base is heavy. Assembly was very easy. The lamp is a bit shorter than most floor lamps and this was exactly what we were looking for. Great value for the price.
