Best Performance Upgrade for the Money

This prop was chosen because I can't afford the $600 for stanless steel 5 blade. I wanted to improve hole shot for watersports. This prop does it. I like to slalom ski but if wakeboarding is your thing then this prop will help keep your speed steady more than a 3 blade. It also improved low speed handling, high speed cornering, and only gave up 1 mph at top speed compared to my 22P 3 blade SS. Not a 5 star rating because the hub kit required an email to tech support to find out it contained a washer that was not necessary for my application and matching the hub and prop required more pounding with a hammer than i was comfortable with on a new prop. Tech support responded in less than 5 minutes. The price difference saved me enough to put gas in the boat all summer long. I have already done the research for you so just buy this prop for watersports one pitch lower than your "cruising" or "speed" prop. The added blade kept the RPM's in the zone for WOT. I am very happy with this purchase.

WOW what a great PROP

I purchased this prop as exchange for my 14X23 three blade for my Bayliner Capri 19FT 190 HP V6 inboard, and wow what a big difference in the positive sence. Its like a different boat, faster plane and more steady plane also on lower speeds. Then turning is much better and the pulling is great.The adults and kids can stay so much longer on the knee-board.The lower pitch choice I made from from 23 to 21 was a good choice. Always lower the pitch when going from 3 to 4 blade by the way. 1 to 2 pitch.The RPM are slightly higher so the engine is working better on its torque / RPM curve.The only thing now is I use more gas per day since everybody has so much more fun on the towables. :-)Love it even if your prop is still 3 blade go for this one with 4 blades.I know you can get better props with 4 blades of stainless steel, but then you pay way more for very small difference if you would ever notice, but when a stainless steel blade hits a tree trunk or other hard object the impact will most likely damage your costly drive, with aluminum the blade will break, which is way less costly.

Like most boaters, replacing a prop usually means your old prop lost an argument with a rock or a log. A rock in my case. Not anxious to drop $400+ on a new stainless prop, but still wanting the performance advantages of a 4-blade, I settled on a Turning Point Legacy and separate Torque Hub kit for about $150. The TPL is a unique design with 2 cup and 2 cleaver blades - two blades are high performance variable rake and aggressive pitch design and two blades utilize an "offshore" style shape for high speed and maximum stern lift. They claim this is the highest performance aluminum propeller on the market, and I tend to believe them. The hole shot is much better, and cruising is improved, with a lot less wallowing on my 21' / 280HP outdrive bow-rider. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars? I'll save that for the stainless version of the same prop. For the money, I don't think you will ever find a better prop.
