My go to mat now for all my picnics and beach adventures

This mat is fantastic. It allows small dirt particles and sand to fall through the mat. This way all you have to do is brush off any larger debris and you have a clean mat. Twigs, grass clippings, etc. just brush off of it. It is made of stiff material. I'd say plastic but it seems to be really tough. It's been jumped on, run on, tossed around and it still looks like new.If you do put another blanket on top of it, the blanket will slide pretty easily.I just like how clean it is and how easy to keep it clean. I never liked having footprints of sand on my beach towel after the kids come up from the ocean but now, it's a simple brush of the hand the sand is gone.I got the 6x6 foot orange tarp which looks like an orange creamsicle since the top part is the bright orange and the bottom is a light orange.Oh the carrying bag is great as well. Made of the same mesh like material it can easily hold the mat plus another blanket for warmth and a few other items.Very, very happy with this product and highly recommend it to any parents who like to have a clean area to relax on while at the beach.

Sand mat

Took this camping at the beach and found out that it does not work well in the evenings and mornings when the sand is wet. It was a wet, sticky mess. During the day it was great. Go to the dollar store and get bamboo mats to put over the mat when the sand is wet and then take those off during the day. Cheap solution.

Easy to unpack, unfold, and place. Our use was on grass, and it kept tracked-in debris to a minimum into our RV, compared to other years at this same camping site. It was easy to pick up, shake, and fold again. The carrying bag is a bonus. Comes with 4 pegs, but 4 more would really anchor it using the middle rings as well. Well worth the price.
