The Grate Wall of Fire features a unique, patented ember chamber, which prevents drafts from entering beneath the fire (as with other grates.) The ember bed, which is the greatest heat source of a fire, is turned toward you, radiating its heat outwards into the room. No more of this valuable heat flies out of the chimney!
Smoke is virtually eliminated! No more risk of a burning log rolling out of the fireplace. Logs are completely burned, leaving a nice, neat pile of ashes. The Grate Wall of Fire offers a dramatic reduction of wood consumption and pesky 'spark popping fires.' The narrow column of embers is held at the rear of the fireplace - this is why the fire never accelerates as wildly as fires do in conventional grates. When burning in the Grate Wall, the wood burns completely without fire-tending in a gravitational, nearly automated fashion, resulting in a steady, heat-efficient fire. A great grate

I learned about these grates last year and asked Santa for one for Christmas. He came through and I installed it Christmas night (install is a bit of an overstatement - SO easy to get set up). I really cannot believe what a huge difference it made in terms of heat output. The heat was the reason I wanted the grate - we often had fires, but the amount of heat they generated was so minimal, the fire was more decorative than useful. Now we have a fire that heats and looks beautiful. I've also noticed a dramatic reduction in the smoke smell in the house when the fire is going. I could not be more pleased with this product.
