Great Keyboard if you only like to buy things once.

I didn't buy this keyboard from Amazon, i bought it on e.b.a.y. It was a buy it now and i paid the same price. I always feel obligated to let people know what i think about products especially when im the first to buy it. :DThe biggest reason why I bought this keyboard is because its touch sensitive. Real cheap keyboards are all just electronic harpsichords. I joined a band and I needed something that would resemble a piano as much as possible. This keyboard does just that. The keys are not weighted, but the fact that the springs are heavier as you move down the keys resembles a pianos touch. Honestly, i prefer the light keys. This keyboard would weigh soo much if they were weighted and would be a pain to carry around. Also, its nice to be able to push your limits a bit since you don't have weight to slow you down. But its like visiting the moon and coming back. Everything feels heavy when you sit at a real piano. So just be careful. :DThe sounds in the piano are really good. The piano sound is good enough. I'm no sound expert but it sounds like a piano. Besides, your never going to make it perfect. High and Low notes sound resonate loud and not muffled like on crap keyboards. How loud the keyboard plays at full volume probably is not loud enough for gigs. But its good enough if your practicing and the guitar and bass don't decide to turn their amps up all the way and head bang. The other sounds built into the keyboard are like what you always get with keyboards, strings, organs, voices, gunshots, etc. What I'm very happy about is they are all touch sensitive (excluding things like harpsichords and organs which are obviously not touch sensitive) It does not just play the note louder or softer, It gives it that bite when you play loud, or that softer sound when you play soft. Its nice that the sound engineers put some time into the actual sound. The recording function on this keyboard works really well. Record whatever and it will play it back exactly how it sounded. Really easy to use.The one thing that I'm not really liking is the appreciator. Its really confusing and I doubt i will actually use it. Idk that might change but for now, It seems useless and confusing. After looking through the manual (the same manual is used for the np-v80 and the np-v60), the only things that are different are the USB connectivity to offload stuff from the keyboard to a flash drive and the appreciator. With the USB connectivity, you could just use the midi interface to record what you play on the computer. Idk. I just have a feeling that i really could have saved 80$ or so and lost a few features that I will never use. But that's for you to judge if you will actually use them or not.Overall, this is a very solid keyboard. I plan to keep this thing for as long as it will last. I should never have a reason to upgrade this unless I jump into music production and need a synthesizer. But that's a whole different story. If your like me and like to invest your money once, this thing is perfect.Hope you didn't find this too long winded. But that's how i write my reviews. :D

I have bought just about every keyboard that's hit the market over the past 30 years plus a few synths...Ive been around long enough to see the evolution of these things and I think this model is totally awesome! The sounds are amazing including the grand piano which I like better than the ones on my professional Roland RD 300, Yamaha Motif, and Roland Fantom G!! It's wonderful when played as a full 76-key keyboard, but where it really shines is when it is used as a "fun machine" with the split keyboard mode and the single-finger accompaniment is played. The accompaniments sound really great with amazing intros and endings. I remember loving my old Lowrey Magic Genie keyboard for the same reason but this thing is like that old Lowrey on steroids! It's totally awesome. You can record on it using the multitrack recorder also, saving your recordings onto a memory stick. Sweet! Keyboards have come a long way over the years and this little gem shows just how far they've come! If you're an older player who used to love the old organs that had the single-finger accompniment feature this is for YOU! It's so much fun I've spent hours just exploring the amazing styles (staying up way past my usuall bed time!) this keyboard gives you all the modern high tech sound quality and playability with a nice mix of some of the older cheesier-sounding stuff of yesteryear. It's the best of both worlds. If you're looking for the perfect keyboard gift, you can't do much better than this in my opinion. Old and young alike should love this instrument. It also has some amazing teaching modes for newcomers! The display shows and identifies the chords your are fingering both on a keyboard diagram as well as a music staff. The other reviewers have some complaints about this keyboard but I think they're being way too picky! It's a superb instrument in my opinion, and I speak as a former keyboard sales associate in a music store. Be sure to plug this into your home stereo system for the full effect of the awesome sounds! The onboard speakers are okay for practice and portability, but it sounds awesome through a stereo system.

I used to take a Casio wk on the road with me and while it was adequate I was never crazy about the two dimensional sound of the pianos and organs. This keyboard is a much nicer sounding unit and is far lighter than my old unit which makes setting up and tearing down for gigs a lot less work.Another reviewer mentioned their displeasure with the location of the headphone jack. I never use headphones With this kb, but if i were to use it i would likely add an extension cable to help manage the issue. I do however use the headphone jack as a line out to connect the kb to the mixer. This work like a dream for me.If you are looking for something better that an entry level model i would recommend this kb. It sounds great and is a lot of fun to play. For the money you cannot got wrong...
