Works as it's supposed to...

Every BMW owner needs to have one of these. It always pays for itself over the first 18 months. I generally will not go off of what a mechanic says about my car unless I reset the service light and see if the faults will come back on. This helps me confirm in fact it was what the original diagnosis was. Many of the older BMW cars are very sensitive when it comes to the electrical system. Even a drained battery may result in the Service Engine Soon (SES) light to come on. The proper method to go about diagnosing the fault is to reset the codes and drive the car again to see if the SAME codes come back.

If you own a BMW in the compatible range of years this tool is a must-have, along with the Bentley manual. If you only reset your Check Engine Light twice, it will have paid for itself (assuming you'd get your light reset at the dealership).Now stop being cheap and buy one...you own a BMW!

Saved cash from the get go. Along with Bimmerforums and other online resources, i properly diagnosed and replaced a bad camshaft position sensor. Took about 30 minutes, taking my time, and simply using online video and photo resources. This simple tool is a God send for anyone. At least it gives you an idea of what is going on. A bit of interpretation and reading others experiences online makes this item an indispensable tool for the consumer.
