Traditional Mahogany cut in such a way as to highlight unique grain patterns that are sometimes Curly or Flamed, streaked or spotted. The Exotic Mahogany Ukulele includes top, Back and Sides in exotic mahogany wood that are defined by a Satin Finish. This model includes the following: Black binding on top and back, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, Silver nickel frets, Die cast tuners, and the Black Kala logo.

Bright sound and a good value for the money

Love the exotic mahogany wood, it is easy to tune & play this concert ukulele is a good value for the money.The sound is bright and louder than expected,I am a happy camper.

I am a BIG fan of KALA and couldn't wait to (literally) get my hands on this Concert Ukulele. I was a little nervous buying an instrument on-line and having not strummed it in person but I took the chance anyway. I am so glad I did! This is one of the best Uke's I own and it sounds and feels and plays GREAT! Super Fantastic! The packaging was great and it took hardly any time to get my front door. I would strongly suggest this ukulele to any musician, professional or just starting out. This is one of those uke's you could own for life and it would still sound and play great over the years!

I bought a Kala pineapple uke to take with me to Iraq in 2009. That poor little uke took quite a beating, and still has the aquila strings(low G tuning) I put on it before I left the states. When I got back, I recommended Kalas to a local music store, and much to my suprise, they listened.I got to strum the KA-CEM, and they even put a low G string on it for me. I couldn't resist, I had to buy it. Now it sits next to my bed and I play it a bit before I go to sleep.I did buy a strap and poly foam case for it. I highly recommend ditching the high G re-entrant string for a low G, it gives the Uke a deeper, richer, sound when strumming chords, and a larger range when you want to do melodies.About the poly foam case, I had my pineapple uke in one and made the mistake of putting it in my duffle bag for the trip to iraq. When I pulled it out of the bag, the case was badly warped, I just KNEW the uke was broken. Much to my amazement, the uke was in perfect shape. I highly recommend the poly foam cases.
